Thank y'all that welcomed me.I really don't know what to say about myself, since I don't know anyone here. I'm 68, a disabled Nam vet and a retired registered nurse. I live in the desert, a recluse,I guess. I have some health issues that I have been told are terminal, but I'm still here. There's still lessons I need to learn and things I need to do. My husband (of 31 years) and I run a 501(c)3 non-profit no-kill sanctuary for elderly and special needs animals (farm and exotic). We rescue the…See More

Howdy y'all,
Sorry I haven't been around for such a long time. It's been hectic here for months, with a new crisis every day. We've lost about 9 animals in the last 8 months and gotten in about 10 animals, so we still have around 35 animals and no help. Just Dave and me, and he is workin' fulltime and any overtime he can get, to pay for feed, medicine, treatments and vet visits. As donations are scarce and volunteers are not happenin'.
But we do have another way of gettin'…

cougar,I get my coupons from a woman that sells them to me for $11. for a 50lb of premium dog food. Iam and royal canin.
so you pay 11. and when you go to store you have to pay tax and that's it.

I'm also considering a community garden and a homeless shelter here, where they would get picked up at sundown and taken where they needed to go in the morning. I think those things may go together well.
It's all still just an idea right now, and really have no clue about how to make it happen, but i hope it does eventually.
(Thats really cool you know where i'm from!) Much LOVE to You..

I believe that, love is a powerful force, a creative/life force. The love we share with, for and from animals can be a profoundly powerful one. I know if it were not for the combined love from my family and loved ones, human and other species together, I would not be here today. Service is a blessing... a life re-affirming one. :)
I started a discussion thread about your rescue work in our animal activism group here on the Temple. I was inspired by the beautiful animals you uploaded pictures of, and just had to share their stories with the group.
