Transmuting negative energy and emotions with the wag of her tail the dog shaman greets me as I crawl out of bed.
She jumps up on me asking to be fed.
Afterwards she wants to go out.
The moon hangs like a sickle in the sky. Venus, Jupiter and Mars shine like jewels. I'm happy the dog shaman woke me to witness the wondrous sights.
The dog shaman likes to drum. She drums her tail on a box, the laundry room door, the wall by the front door, she drums anywhere she can. Her drumming brings happiness into the household. Reminding us to be playful and full of joy.
Outside she likes to sniff the dandelions and small slow crawling bugs. Sometimes she will plop down, roll around and then get up and shake it all off. Reminding me that sometimes you just need a good roll in the grass to shake off bad moods.
It was fate that brought us all together and I'm so grateful for that day.
Her name is Arizona. A name given to her by her previous owners. She is a Queensland Heeler mixed with lab so the vet thinks.
Whatever she may be, she is a heeler to me. Healing me when I'm down deep and feeling oh so lonely.
