savlove , a mosaic is a nice visual.
I see bad grammar in my post and it was not very clear so glad it was understood.
Mean to say "There will always be a person superior and inferior to each of us in different aspects." For example in aspects of creativity, arts, intelligence, looks, athleticism , psychic, spiritual, monetary and so on. We can excel in certain aspects while we do not excel in others. No one is perfect is the cliche that says it all. We all have flaws and imperfections at the same time we have perfections. Therefore we are all equal. We are micro mosaic within macro mosaic.
SophiaL, that really says it. "Different aspects" are like stones in a mosaic, all stones, yet colored and shaped differently, adding up to the piece itself - in our case, humanity. God bless the animals - they don't need clothing, so that's 3 out of 4!
Breaking it down to the simplest of terms. We are all equal. We all have same basic needs of food, clothing , shelter and love. We are motivated and or driven by desires and needs.
There will always is a person superior and inferior to each of us different aspects. So it is impossible to judge and deem one another equal based on the accomplishments they inherit, born with or achieve.
That may depend upon what they are born into? The family. The society. The values and the morals that surround them.
Hardly. Sure we are each a universe unto ourselves, and no doubt the fact that we all have the same organs, potentials. and equality under the eyes of God - all that proves our equality. Equal parts on the shining medicine wheel of the tao. We're all part of the OneSoul. And that is where our equality is most simple and most unclear. Beyond that oneness, we are so unequal. Who is equal to the task that only another can perform? Who is equal to Van Gogh or Tesla or Sappho in their day? How are preferences signs of anything but equality? Generally, Yes, we are Equal. In the day to day details, unfree and unequal.
Good point Charles R. I do tend to believe, he meant people as a whole....but of course I don't really know.
It depends on what you mean by equal.
Potential as Linda mentions, or
Equal looks? Size? Strength? Opportunity? Rights?
I do not believe that we are created equal.....just like the Animal Kingdom, humans were created by Nature. Nature can be very cruel as observed by Charles Darwin. There is no equality in Nature, just survival and Humankind is no different. It is about survival.
Yes, equal potential, even those with disabilities have equal potentian. It saddens me that so few people realize this. Autistic daughter here.
