If experiencing ANY type of technical problem try these steps first:

  1. Ensure your web browser is compatible with the site List of compatible browsers
    If your browser is compatible, then move on to the remaining steps:
  2. Reboot your computer.
  3. Clear your browser cache
  4. Flush your DNS
  5. Make sure you have the most recent version of flash uploaded, get it here now.
  6. Reboot your computer again.
  7. If problem persists email: helpcenter@ning.com Be as detailed in your description of the problem as possible, include site address, personal page address, and any pertinent info you may have (like error messages or screenshots).



SPAM is for the Birds!

But, spam happens. Occasionally you may receive a comment from a new member requesting home email contact, and, if you haven't changed your email settings, you will also receive a home email notice/copy.

(If the actual comment on your page has disappeared and/or the member is no longer here, it's because they have already been removed for spamming)

What to do?

1) Ignore messages requesting private email contact from new members you don't know well. It's always better to communicate on site than respond to private email or give out your private email.

2) Visit their profile, if they are still an active member of the site. Write one of our administrators to let them know and if you like, feel free to post a comment or post in this group to give others a heads up to be aware until we able to respond and remove them.

3) Don't Panic! Like most 'evil entities' the spammers diabolical power is in their ability to annoy! and they are unable to harm you unless you cooperate with them. :)

Internet Explorer is horrible unless you just do fb.  Sometimes Firefox or Chrome, get little bugs in them, so I switch for a week or so, and go back.  Sometimes I just quit and re-install them too.  What security do you use?  I switched to Webroot.  Good tech support and they block me from unsafe sites....

I found that mozilla works better when I am on Temple..i can not use Internet Explorer on my laptop as it's not compatible for some reason.I have changed over to Chromium though and so far the groups I get i are working but have not tried all yet....will let ya know.

I do clear my history every night or every other night depending...I did start using Mozilla and I noticed the ning sites aren't secure and a lot of the other sites I use aren't secure but I don't have a virus because I checked today

Gyhldeptis/Zaria Acacia, you DO need to delete stuff more then once in awhile, I do it every 3-4 weeks.

that's the thing I clear everything on a regular basis,normally nightly.and Catlin put a virus scanner on my PC when he cleaned out the cookies and deleted tons of apps and stuff ,he's my I.T. son,i never use or wouldn't use.I've tried google chrome and mozilla firefox because that's what I need for work apps.I have even bugged poor Bryan when i know he's busy.Since he's the brains of the group..he's helped me alot...Catlin even gave me a fan for under my laptop since I am on line so much.I think he put it to where I delete my cookies and my browsing history at the same time.Do I need to go in and delete it forever somewhere else? I appreciate any help...Love ya

Gyldeptis have you tried cleaning your browser?  This sometimes can help.  Then after cleaning it just re-start.  Also I can recommend a free cleaner you can download that will clean out your cookies and stuff you don't need any longer.  I use it daily when I get off the pc for the day.  If you haven't already run a virus scan you may also want to try that to be safe.
