Sometimes in life, we come across a situation where we have to speak our truth to a person in our life. There is no way around it but we have to let someone know the thoughts in our head and feelings in our heart.
When this is something that they may feel is hurtful or delicate, while speaking our truth is important, it is also important to remember to use as much tact and compassion as possible.
I am all for straight speaking but there are times when just 'blurting' something out is not the best policy.
I always try to put myself in the other persons shoes and imagine how I would prefer to hear the news being shared and while it may hurt in the short term, in the long term and once the information sinks in and is accepted, it can be healing.
So while speaking your truth, be aware of the words and vocal tone you use. Put yourself in the other persons shoes as the recipient of such news and remember to always speak from a place of love, compassion and non judgement.
