The world's amphibians are disappearing rapidly because of adverse environmental factors such as the destruction of the rain forest, and generally speaking, the wasteful, destructive and polluting ways of so many of the human species which is causing an ever-increasing rate of global warming with concomitant climate change.

We can all help in small ways to benefit our amphibian cousins all around the world. If we stop using insecticides which are really unnecessary in most cases, we encourage the natural predators such as spiders and wasps to return and take care of the pests for us at no cost. Pesticides are especially dangerous to the whole garden eco-system, and are carcinogenic to the tissues and organs of all living beings. Frogs have a skin which absorbs the toxic chemicals quicker than we do and are vulnerable to the increased UV levels which also come with global warming. Speak out against these pesticides and the big companies who manufacture them. They are poisoning the fabric of the eco-system faster than it can repair itself at the moment. Are humans to be held responsible for the extinction of yet another tribe?

Plant as many trees and other plants as possible. This really helps more than we realize!

Encourage wildlife into the garden and make it part of nature by planting indigenous endemic plants in the garden and wherever possible. It is easy to seed them and grow them into seedlings ready for planting .Do not use chemical fertilizers, but rather organic ones.

Use only biodegradable washing powders and soaps, as foam is also a big problem for the environment.

Support the rain forest conservation groups and Green Peace campaigns, and be vocal - who minds speaking up for the sacred animals of the world and their habitat?

There are many other common-sense and reasonable things we can all do to help save the frogs. Lets just do what we can, and even directly support the zoos and other groups which conserve and also protect Nature if we have any money available for 'charity'. Mother Nature really, really needs it..

Oh, yes let us save them, any way we can!

Froggie kisses for you, dear Carmen!!!

Yes, dear Zephonit, Frogs are kings!

Hello, Tami :)

Blessed Be, wishing you a lovely day!

The above image is of the African Bullfrog, known as the Pixie Frog, partly due to the scientific name, Pixicephalus adspersus.

They are currently endangered as they are common near standing water, in marshy areas, which are constantly being disturbed due to urban development.

They get bigger than this, even! Bullfrogs snack on rats, snakes and well, anything that can fit inside their mouths, which are full of teeth.

Yes actually they have quite a bite and can latch onto just about anything! They just defend their territory(though a bulldozer makes more of a fair match for them).

I was considering that if it wasn't for the snakes, toads, spiders and other predators, we would be overrun with mice, rats and insect infestations. Chemicals only serve to poison the whole eco-system as well as the humans who expose themselves to contact with aerosol poisons and other garden poisons which have been proven to cause all kinds of cancers.

A single toad can consume hundreds of thousands of termites in her lifetime.

Well, thanks Tami

Have a lovely evening:)
