Labyrinth - As The World Falls Down (David Bowie)

Labyrinth - As The World Falls Down (David Bowie)

~The song of all love songs ! This is the scene that puts it all together for me....the girl...the ballroom masquerade...the goblin king Bowie ! Too wicked cool ! David is best when he does a song like this...a real romantic ! I forgive him wearing those stupid tights and singing "Dance Magic Dance" because this scene steals the show ! Straight or not...I would jump Bowie in a second if he knocked on my door looking like that ! ....Ahhh...the 'experimental' college years ! Bi-Bi Bowie ! I'm married now !

Some of those late sixties recordings were really great songs! "She's Got Medals", "Please Mr Gravedigger", and "We Are Hungry Men" we're some well written songs! And as for Diamond Dogs, wow! The clips from the stage show he done of that are astounding!!!! Strangely enough Stardust by Zanetta Ive never read (although its one of the classic rock biographies), although the others by Tremlett, Buckleys "Strange Fascination" and the recent one by Peter Doggett "The Man Who Sold The World" aren't too bad (albeit Buckleys treads far too carefully around Boweie's bisexual years alas, so Im wondering if that was officially given the nod by Bowie).

Lol, Id encourgae you to go for the make-up thing, even if its just to get in touch with that old side of your college years, youth is still in the psyche and soul, it just needs to be refreshed a little now and again for it to give it life *smiles* :-)

P.s. Record stores still abound, in fact in Glasgow theres one just nearby Glasgow Uni, and it does a roaring trade! Vinyl lps never die, in the UK here Eric, theres still a ton of great second hand record shops!

Oh goodness ! I almost forgot about that song !! It was on a CD I found at a college record store (do they still have those?) and it had all his first recordings on it...like Love You Till Tuesday

I forgot he studied as a Mime, too !! Hahahahaahahaahhhhaaa !

I read his biography, too, at college ...

The David Bowie Story "Stardust" by Henry Edwards and Tony Zenetta *It was my bible !*

I read '1984' because Bowie did...and almost went NUTS with his album tribute to it "Diamond Dogs"...and that track,

Chant of the ever circling skeletal family

"Brother !.....Hoo hoo...shake it up...shake it up....move it up...move it up !!"

LOL !! Oh, Alannah...I better stop for now.....Halloween is coming soon and I might just grab some my old makeup and go as "Aladdin Sane"....Hahahaha !

Take care for now !!

Eric

You know what the strange thing about Bowie is? Im positive that somewhere in a dusty old attic theres a painting thats doing the ageing for him ala Dorian gray style, but no matter his age, he's still got it!! (We can forgive him the Laughing Gnome, although on occasions Ive been known to defend that little gem of a classic lol) :-)
