Temperance 14 - My Personal Tarot Journey

Do you remember in the '80's they had this Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial about mixing two foods you weren't sure went together:
"Hey...you put your chocolate in my peanut butter!"
"You put your peanut butter in my chocolate!"
"What?.....DELICIOUS !!"
I know this commercial is dated...but that's Temperance in a nutshell (or cups as it were).
Here we have two energies: one is blue...element of water...left hand...thoughtful, passive, and emotional side...
... and the other is red...element of fire...right hand...agressive , active, and creative.
By nature the two will always be at odds with one another simply because they are polar opposites. But what happens if the balance of the two could be controlled to meet in each other half way?
You get synthesis...harmony...equilibrium...you get Temperance.
Focus for a second on the image between the fingers. A cloud of vapor has materialized due to cooperation of both halves. In fact to achieve this, the hands had to properly use their powers in unison for the right mixture to manifest this energy.
How often do we try unsuccessfully to balance aspects of our lives to a proper stasis? Is it because we were too emotional to take action? Or were we too aggressive without thinking things through first?
With Temperance there is always a "give and take" symbiosis that maintains balance. When your life is in balance, others parts will follow: increased health (both mentally and physically), and a centered-secure feeling of peace and harmony.
Who would have known all that can be found in a candy bar commercial ?
