The early hours of Thursday morning found us trudging through wet fields in Avebury approaching the stones. Although there were people in robes I did not find the group who had posted Avebury Summer Solstice on Facebook as an event. No more rain in the valleys
River slow your flow
Birds sing
And bathe wings
In sunlight pools
Where a warmth grows
From the stillness
Undisturbed by raindrop
And sunlight skies
Smile upon the grassy hills
Rising through forestry
To mountain peek
No longer hid by cloudy grey
But shades of verdant green
And bare foot goddess runs
