After we lost connection I looked at the sky
the limpid black and still sky,
still, that is, till the lightning ripped it apart.

Black hair sticks to my neck as our breath grows ragged,
the light is non-existent...
I hate that burning light,
that harbinger of separation from you.
My skin feels cool to the touch, yours is warm and soft
