At the end of July of last year, I wrote about my family harassing me through private investigators. I ended up sending my parents a letter where I very clearly told them that I don't want them in my life and to leave me alone. One year later and they still haven't gotten the message. It's been a while since I've blogged, but I really wanted to say a few words about being alone on Thanksgiving, by choice. I have two reasons for this. One is personal and the other is a values thing.
Within the last 9 years, I've celebrated Thanksgiving only once. A friend of mine who usually doesn't host Thanksgiving was stuck doing it, so I went in order to support her. I haven't spent a holiday with my family in 9 years and don't plan on it ever again.
