Spirit Guides and Empaths?

Do you think or ever wonder if we as empaths can feel our Spirit guides?  The reason I ask is because I went to a mystical paranormal fair over the weekend and visited a medium.  He told me I had one of my spirit guides there with me.  (what is odd about this, is when I was a teenager I "created" this woman out of the air and named her Alexandra. Physical symptons?

In my discovery of being an empath I'm learning all kinds of things that I never paid much attention to.  For example, my boyfriend, my daughter and I  were in a store today and the over powering emotions were crippling me.  Three things I realized from this episode:1. Found out yesterday I'm an empath

My entire life I was told I was "hypersensitive" and that I wore my emotions on my sleeve.I was always told I was bound for "greatness" whatever that meant  I was told in my teenage years my saratonin in my brain was low and would have to be on anti depressants my entire life.  I was also told I was manic depressant.  My mother always told me my emotions were a sign of weakness and crying wasn't a strong trait.
