The 7 HeavensPrior to the invention of the telescope and the Copernican revolustion, it was generally belived that the earth was the stable center of the universe, around which the Sun, Moon, stars, and the five known planets revolved. Because the Sun, Moon and planets moved along paths of their own, was entirely independenntly of the stars, it was believed that they were "stuck" on a series of concentic crystalline (i.e.,transparent) spheres that revolved around the Earth between the stars and the Earth. From this conception of the universe arose the idea of seven "levels of reality," corresponding to the seven celestial spheres. The ordinary level of humanity's experinece was referred to as the "sublunar" realm, meaning that it is the level below the sphere of the moon. Another popular number was nine, which seems to have been derived by considering the Earth itself as well as the sphere composed of the fixed stars as constituting distinct levels. Given this view of reality, it was natural that the angels should be regarded as being arranged in a hierarchy of levels, hense Dionysius's schema of nine choirs of angels. In ancient Neoplatonism the various levels of reality were regraded as having been sequentially "emanated" by the formless Godhead from the freal of the fixed stars to the physical plane. The Gnostics introduced an interesting twist on the basic idea by asserting that the physical world was created by mistake and is a prison from which we should attempt to escape. Trapping human spirits in this world, the evil creator established archons (evil archangels) at each of the seven levels to prevent humans from escaping.Traditionally, the seven heavens are as follows:FIRST HEAVEN (SHAMAYIN)The lowest heaven, Shamayin borders the Earth ad is ruled by Gabriel. It contains clouds, the winds, the Upper Waters, and is home to the two hundred astronomer-angels whoe preside over the stars.SECOND HEAVEN (RAQUIA)Raquia is ruled by the angel Raphael, and according to Enoch, it is within the heaven that the fallen angels are imprisoned awaiting final judgement in complete darkness.THIRD HEAVEN (SAGUN OR SHEHQUIN)According to Enoch, hell lies within the northen boundaries of the third heaven. Sagun is ruled by Anahel, and is the residence for Iza'll, the Islamic angel of death. It is here that the wicked are tortured by angels in the southern regions, however, there exists a bountiful paradise, thought to be the Garden of Eden, where the souls of the righteous will come after death.FOURTH HEAVEN (ZEBHUL OR MACHANON)Ruled by Michael, the fourth heaven "is the site of the heavenly Jerusalem, the Holy Temple and it's Altar" It is here, according to Enoch, that the Garden of Eden is actually housed, not in the third heaven.FIFTH HEAVEN (NACHON OR MA'ON)Machon is home to God, Aaron, and the avenging angels. The northern boundaries, said to be ruled by neither Sandalphon or Samael, is home to fallen grigori (the watchers). In the southern regions, on the other hand, reside the ministering angels who endlessly chant the praises of the Lord.SIXTH HEAVEN (ZEBUL OR MAKHON)The sixth heaven is ruled by Zebul at night andSEVEN HEAVEN (ARABOTH)The holiest of heavens, Araboth is ruled by Cassiel, and is home to God on his Divine Throne, along with the highest orders of angels -- the seraphim, cherubim, and thrones.
~The unicorn is a legendary creature like a horse, but with a slender, usually spiral, horn growing out of its forehead. The popular image of the unicorn is that of a white horse differing only in the horn.In mideval lore, the spiraled horn of the unicorns was called the alicorn, and was thought to neutralize poisons. In popular mythology, unicorns were hunted for their horns, which were said to protect one against diseases, or, if made into a cup, would protect on eform any poison that might have been added to one's drink. This belief is derived from Ctesias' reports on the unicorn in India, where it was used by the rulers of that place for anti-toxin purposes so as to avoid assassination.People sold what they purported to be unicorn horns at this time, but were actually selling narwall horns (narwalls are whales with large, horn-like tusks that swim in cold water.)Traditionally, the unicorn had a billy-goat beard, a lion's tail, and choven hoofs. Ironically, this perception was more realistic, as only cloven-hoofed animals have horns. Unicorns were once thought of as nasty, easily provoked creatures, unlike the gentle perception we have of them today. They were thought to have deep, bellowing voices. As Ctesias, the ancient Greek physician, said:"The unicorn was native to India, the size of a donkey, with a burgundy head and white body; it had blue eyes, a single horn that was bright red at the top, black in the middle, and white at the bottom; the horn was also eighteen inches long."Julis Ceasar also described the unicorn, saying, "It had a deer's head, elephant's feet, a three-foot long horn, and a boar's tail." It was not until the middle ages that the unicorn began to take on its present form.A widespread legend is that, when Noah gathered two of every kind of animal, he neglected to gather the unicorns, which is why they do not exist today. The quilin, a creature in Chinese myth, is sometimes called "the Chinese unicorn," but is not directly related to the Western unicorn. The quilin has the body of a deer, the lead of a lion, green scales and a long froth-covered horn. In Japanese, the word kirin (written with the same Chinese ideograms) is used to designate both the giraffe and the mythical creature. Although the Japanese kirin is based on Chinese myth, it more closely resembles the Western Unicorn than does the Chinese quilin.
"The Moon is a white strange world, great, white, soft-seeming globe in the night sky, and what she actually communicates to me across space I shall never fully know. But the Moon that pulls the tides, and the Moon that controls the menstrual periods of women, and the Moon that touches the lunatics, she is not the mere dead lump of the astronomist. When we describe the Moon as dead, we are describing the deadness in ourselves. When we find space so hideously void, we are describing our own unbearable emptiness." - D.H. Lawrence
"The moon, like a flowerIn heaven's high bower,With silent delightSits and smiles on the night."William Blake
"Angels aid us in our personal mission. We have to learn to listen, for if we block the angels out, they become only the fairy beings of dreams and pleasant stories." - Silver Ravenwolf "Angels have immense auras, extending in some cases, like a mountain Deva, for miles. The historical attribution of wings to angelics is probably the result of the subconscious minds of human seers "clothing" the auras of angels with a form that their conscious minds could comprehend." - David Goddard"When the Angels arrive, the devils leave." - Egyptian Proverb~Magickal Graphics~
Fairies are mystical magical creatures of the woods. Their true date of origination is hard to place. Some say they were always there, well before humans were created and others say they originate from an enchanted dream. What we do know is they attract everything that is good in this world. Below is more information on fairies. What makes a hearty fairy feast? They enjoy anything that is natural. Fruits are one of their favorite foods. They have a very strong sweet tooth and can be found to enjoy treats like sweet butter bread, honey cakes and almost anything else made with honey. If you want to attract a hungry fairy, place honey or honey dipped bread in a bowl on your windowsill or back porch. Keep in mind that most will not touch the food, but only absorb its essence. Untouched food does not mean they did not come for a visit. It only means they received enough nourishment from the spirit around it.How Can You Attract a Fairy? This is quite a simple thing to do. They love a clean and organized home. Make sure your home is well in order. The cleaner and more organized a home, the better. After a few weeks of keeping your home clean, you may notice a few things have disappeared only to find them reappearing a few days later in the same place you left them. When this happens you have attracted a fairy.Fairies are playful creatures of the woods that love to play harmless games. Keep in mind that they only play these games to keep themselves amused and would never harm a human. If you find a fairy has come into your home, then be certain you are blessed. To have a fairy in your house means your home has been touched with everything that is pure and good. You can be sure an over abundance of luck will be headed your way. As she comes and goes, your new friend will leave fairy dust throughout the rooms of your house. The fairy dust is what brings good luck. Every time you come in contact with the dust you will feel enchanted with good intentions and a positive outlook on life.Another great way to attract a one is to grow some of the plants and flowers they love in your garden. They love a well kept garden. Grow Digitalis as they can be used to make clothes. Also add some lilies as they can be used to make hats. Add a few tulips for they can be used as a fairy bed or blankets. They are gentle creatures who will thank you for your garden gifts.Lastly add a humming bird feeder. Humming birds are great transporters for fairies; they love to use them to get around quickly. Add bright colors to your garden. Anything natural that can be found in the forest is a great addition to your garden. Twigs, leaves, branches, nuts etc. are all great ways to attract a fairy and make them feel at home.
