Alannah,

The term "not popular in circles" is short for "not widely interpreted with this form of meaning within the masses". Let me explain...

Examples;

Notice that all three still hold to the basic "light" meaning of the card, but they lack the "Sexy-Librarian-Mistresses-with-the-Most-ess" slant that this card can really be sometimes ! They are too commercial...too safe...to "Tickle-Me-Elmo" ! LOL The beauty is there...but not the intelligence and her swift clock-work mind.

If you see a resemblance to this card, Alannah, then I am flattered. I write what I see...but sometimes (especially lately) my psychic empathy times my work with someone who needs to hear it...this time it looks as if it was YOU ! And I must say....nothing wrong with that...or you !

Wow, lol, damn! Thats an description you gave Eric, I am deeply impressed by this! Thats excellent work and I'll hold my hand ups and say "honest cop Guv'nor, you got a big part of me bang to rights there" lol. Your power of analysis with the Tarot is excellent, and you put it across showing your own passion and knowledge in regards to it too!

Do me one big favour - please don't ever hesitate to comment in a similar vein or give your thoughts on any pics I post, ever, I like the way you think. Forgive me one small question though, you stated this type of interpretation wasn't popular in circles, why is that as Im genuinely curious?

Ahhh...the 'dark side' of Lady Queen of Swords....I love it !!

This is from Tarot of  the Master (with Italian script). Let's see If I got this right...

...The Queen of Swords is an intellectual...very sharp witted and a keeper of truth. So much so that her dark side will sometimes go vigilante on people who insist on lying to her (as you can see by the 'head-less" body in the tent. Hmmm....I wonder where she put it? Oh right....in the bag she is holding in her hand ! Now that's a royal bitch.....with sword to boot ! And look...she was kind enough NOT to make a mess on her nice dress !

What I love about the Tarot is this...although I follow a path that is filled with light...I wouldn't be human if I didn't have my dark days. The YinYang symbol teaches that...always at least a little 'darkness' within that 'light'. In fact, with every card, just like the Brothers Grimm stories are now children's bed time stories...they originally were not written that way! They had  very, very dark undertones within their masterpieces...if you haven't read the REAL Red Riding Hood....you should! I remember that this light, although pure in goodness, cast my shadow of darkness in front of me ! 

Anyway...back to our 'original' Queen photo...

Her eyes are in a trance...white with a holy authority to see through deceptions and face the truth, no matter how unpleasant. Swords are mental energy. Although not normally the violent type, she is definitely displaying an aggressive stance by holding her wavy sword of the mind out and resting it on her two fingers (as if to display her true power is her mind...not the sword's edge). Although her sword could do the talking for her, she chooses to 'cut' through the bullsh#@! with her words that 'pierce' even deeper than any blade could. After receiving a reprimand from this "Mistress" , you will wish she DID cut of your head...because her TRUTH in spoken word once heard will hurt not only your heart...but your soul ! Don't mess with the Mistress of the Mind !

We don't really see this interpretation much anymore in circles. That is why I'm bringing them out in our Tarot community group...to get closer to the truths and relationship with the cards (like reading the Grimm's originals for the first time). I see so much in your choices of art and beauty that remind me of myself. I love beautiful things...but I don't always NEED them. Sometimes what I need is more realism...something more dark...

...something that contains the TRUTH in it (that is why you and I choose pictures of what some may see as grotesque or dark...but we see as real and true !
