I love crystals and pass many onto friends when I get the call to do so.

I find those who aren't used to them are generally surprised at the effect these stones can have on their moods, and health. I'll add to this as I get the chance.

My little kitchen withc sits among some of the crystals I like to carry about with me. I usually have a bagful and find children are drawn to Tigerseye. I know many kids love Amethyst, (who doesn't??!!) but they usually go straight for the Tigerseyes in my collections. I let them hold them in First Aid it usually soothes them a little.

Ive also helped parents with childrens night terrors by getting them to leave an Amethyst next to the childs bed...other crystals help too. Oils in the vincitiy as well.

Also I get them to help the kids 'practise kicking the nasty dreams butts...like ninjas'...Lucid dreaming. It doesn't often fail thank god. I hate to see kids go through night terrors. Dream catchers too!!!!!!--Explain why to the child if they can understand. Empower them.

I need some positive energy in my house...get out the negativity.  What crystals would be for placing around the house for this???

For reasons I'm not going into, in some rooms, in the windows I have black obsidian arrowhead facing North. They send negative energy back into the earth. It works.
It helps to know what type, or more precisely what type of negativity sometimes. You can go according to the colours of the crystal too..rose quartz, or pink opals to help harmonise in relationships in the home for instance.
There are also protective crystals for home use, and areas to place them. Around the entrances and exits; the corners of the house, garden or workplace. I have crystals placed around my home corresponding to the elements. It seems to create a good atmosphere. Use differing densities..soft, sparkly and so on. So nothing becomes too overpowering.
Blue stones like lapis lazuli (brings peace and clarity) are good for calming stressful types who enjoy drama etc. We all get them, whatever their age.
Amethyst I have mostly(some tumble stones dotted around other rooms too) in the bedrooms to help with sleep and to prevent fitful, scary dreams, rose quartz again too. Most quartz seems to be benefical.
White/clear quartz really will kick negativity out.
Remember to cleanse and charge the stones as home workers can be busy little bees :)

You could try using the chakra colours in relation to energising your home ie red....strength - Jasper and jade etc. Actually colours can do this too, throws and so on.

Nasty situation Storm.
Do you think she knows she's doing it? I'm glad you enjoy the group :) there's no problem with you popping in and reading as you do.....as long as you're comfy and enjoying it...its doing its work :)
So Storm and Jasmin this might answer both of you :)

I seem to have an affinity with obdsidisn. Either wearing it or using it in the house....which is gentler than having contact with it over time. It can cause isolation and depression at the far end of the scale. As arrowheads you can send the negativity into the ground, rather than back at her. I'd use any pointed crystal ...if it suited the purpose to redirect energy in a certain direction.
You can match candle colours to strengthen the crystals effect.
I read, sometime ago, that ruby....not always the pricey stuff...the cheaper stuff can block uanyone tapering with your aura. Wear it in your midriff area in particular.
Clear/white quartz around the house helps. Place lumps of the stuff near the entrances to your home. You could also work with the chakra colours ...strength..red etc. I'll get links.
Remember intuition/vibration with crystal choice. Switch the connection on...think of the outcome you need, THEN choose the crystal for the purpose. It works.
I will find some good links on this for you. Also look up Casssndra Eason. She is absolutely marvellous ... An author and her crystal articles are easy to remember.

Also don't forget to use the bubble/shielding effect. If you anyone needs advice ask ok? There are loads of us who will give the help needed. Its easy and needs nothing equipment wise x

This is all great information.  I am looking to get out emotional negativity in my house...there's a lot of anger going on right now.  I have done a house cleansing but would like to use the power or crystals, also...try to bring a bit of peace in the house.  Again...great info and I will do some more reading...see what I can find for crystals.  :)  Any information is always greatly appreciated...I'm still learning and don't know a whole lot.  :):)

We're all learning ...I have a memory like a sieve. Anything you find out...that you think we could use it pass on....drop it in here?? Its what I'm going to do.
I also drop stuff into my BOS which is actually on the comp. I have loads jotted down in different books too.

There is also a "Gold Elixir" for charging objects. It is easy to make. You just take an old piece of gold jewelry (harder ot find in the US than Europe where 24K is easier to find as opposed to our 14K-18K gold) like a single earring that has lost it's mate, a tie tack, something gold and heat it to glowing while holding it with long tweezers, needle-nosed pliers, whatever. Then, being careful to immerse only the gold, put the glowing metal into a bath of spring, rain, or other water of your choice. The gold will loose molecules into the water and stay in perpetual suspension since the ratio of gold to water is so minute. Then you add the crystal or stone of your choice. It is suggested that this be done with herbal infusions/decoctions as well for specific purposes. this is said to be a super-charger.
Hmm, I wonder how that would work with Sterling Silver? I know that silver is not as inert as gold is but still, it is an interesting thought.

Yes, absolutely, Hedgewitch! I used water exposed to the Full Moon in Scorpio (water element) for C&P of my homemade black scrying Mirror, too. Me too, I also like ot use a crystal or combination of crystals for keeping the water energized and clear. Of course, the stone first needs to be purified and energized but you already know that, I'm sure.
My favorite use of crystals/stones is in threes:
1) draw negativity away from object and other stones and store it for cleansing- Black Tourmaline
2) purification (only one I know of that turns negative energy into positive-Amber
3) energize- several will do but I have my Air Element favorites
I also like Amethyst for raising the quality of the vibrations to a more subtle level if that is called for. There are so many stones but not being wealthy, I don't keep many different stones on hand. Clear quartz is of course one that is always around the house, all my Tarot decks that have found their way to me over the years (well the ones i have not passed on to other momentarily more needy witches) are stored with one in them for example. I have a friend who is dedicated to sending me stones and crystals of various sorts. I do have a survey of different stones/crystals but that is only because I have a friend dedicated to sending them to me. LOL, she thinks I need more exposure to various crystals and makes me study them but mostly I use my favorites.
Hedgewitch, have you ever used shaved Rosewood from trimmings taken from rose bushes? I like to burn rosewood shavings, cedar shavings, juniper shavings and pine shavings, and such mixed with herbs on charcoals depending on the intention. It's cheaper than incense sticks and I am definitely cheap! :)

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say that for the third crystal, I prefer one of the quartz family. because of quartz's great ability to retain energy/information. I'm not just talking about clear quartz, rutilated quartz, smoky quartz, etc, but also amethyst, citrine, Chrysoprase, Ametrine and a host of others.
