Moses bore the magickal staff which was in the image of a bronze serpentine Caduceus. The Ten Commandments derive directly from the 42 Ideals of Maat, save for the amended ones.

All sacred texts were amended and revised to make them speak of fear and hate and domination rather than of Truth and Love. Subsequently, Moses was evidently compelled to divorce his Egyptian Queen, Hagar.

The Truth and their son were cast out into exile.

The Fiery Serpent, Guardian of the Temples; the Golden Calf;  the Bronze Serpent, the Boar and the Pig, were now to be rejected along with the equal worship of Goddess and God.

"'The strange veneration in which the Ophites held the serpent which represented Christos may become less perplexing if the students would but remember that at all ages, the serpent was the symbol of divine wisdom, which kills in order to resurrect, destroys but to build the better...

"...Moses is a decendant of Levi, a serpent tribe...

Gautama-Buddha is of a serpent lineage, through the Naga (serpent) race of kings who reigned in Maghada.

Hermes, or the god Taaut, or Thoth, in his snake symbol is Tet, and according to the Ophite legends, Jesus or Christos is born from a snake (Divine Wisdom, or the Holy Ghost) ie. he became a son of God through his initiation into the 'serpent science'.

Vishnu, identical with the Egyptian Kneph, rests on the heavenly seven-headed serpent "

- Madame HP. Blavatsky

Something changed -  the Law was edited, equality and harmony between people disappeared; and the sacred texts altered to serve the interests of the few at the expense of the many. The Ideals became Commandments;  and Love gave way to hatred and discrimination.

The Old Gods became the devils of the new.

All Pagan Spirits were classed as demonic, and Mother Nature is no longer revered but subjected to 'dominion' and abuse. People were no longer free to choose their own Paths to the Divine.

The ancient Goddess ways were not at all centered on punishment or restrictions; the use of fire as a means of punishment and torture, is purely a patriarchal invention. Fire was used by the Inquisition, in the Americas and during the centuries of the 'Witchcraze' to cruelly torture people to death, and to burn suspected witches alive.

Nature was now seen as something to conquer, and mankind was to have dominion over and enslave the animals. This was because the Ways of devotion to the Old Gods of Nature are very much centered around the love of animals.

Anyone generally familiar with the First Goddesses and Gods will realise that the animals and especially certain sacred animals such as the Asp, Crocodile, Chthonic Serpent, Beetle, Mongoose, Jackal, Cat, Owl, Ostrich, Hippotamus, Adder, Falcon, Heron, Bee, Scorpion, Fish, Baboon, Horse, Goat, Owl, Goose, and many more; are central to our correct understanding and interpretations of the Divinities and the Legends

This is a Nature-based Path.

The sacred beasts of Set are; the Serpent, the Boar, the Hippopotamus, Crocodile and Oxyrhynchus fish. Set shares the Crocodile as sacred with Ra Sobek. Set and then Ra were first created by Nun, the Great Goddess from within of Herself. As Set is the Yin of the Divine Masculine, His sacred animals are of Water and Earth. The characteristics of Divinity are realized via the Sacred Beasts in whose form the Gods often manifest.

"He is usually depicted in human form with the head of an animal which has not yet been identified; in later times the head of the ass was confounded with it, but the figures of the god which are preserved in the British museum and elsewhere prove beyond a doubt that the head of Set is of an animal unknown to us."

-Sir EA Wallace-Budge

The Anteaters of Africa are very rarely seen. They are nocturnal in habit, live under the ground in burrows; and consume millions of white ants at night by the light of the stars and the Moon by breaking open their nests and licking them up with their long, sticky tongues. The Anteater, or Aardvark(Earth Pig), has extremely acute hearing, with distinctively shaped ears that can even detect the secretive sounds of ants dwelling underground.

All of the trillions of ants, are one organism; and so, Mother Nature regulates the flow and prevents excess so as to maintain the natural balance.

The Oxyrhynchus fishes comes from Tropical Africa and the Nile river. They are nocturnal in habit, preferring quiet, dark waters where they can feed on small worms, insects and crustaceans with a uniquely shaped nose, like an Elephant's trunk. Some species can generate a mild electric 'shock'  when disturbed; and the fish seem to communicate with one another and their surrounds via transmission and reflection of these energetic impulses.

The Oxyrhynchus, or Mormyrid fish, was widely venerated throughout Africa as representing Divinity and as symbolizing reincarnation, and the Life after Death which all Egyptians accepted as matter-of-fact..

This image above shows Set as the Crowned Oxyrhynchus Fish, worshipped by a devotee at his altar of red and dark blue

This votive statuette is of the Goddess Taweret, the wife of Set. Not surprisingly, the Hippopotamus is also a sacred animal of Set!

Set is also venerated as the sacred Crocodile. In the Metternich Stele, The Great Goddess Isis in Androgynous form is supported by the Dragon, or Crocodile.

Ammut is known as the Set Beast. Ammut awaits the deceased whose heart weighs heavy, to guide them into the Underworld to be purified before returning to learn lessons yet again.

There is no eternal hell of punishment, and this concept only came about in medieval times. Everyone must accept responsibility for their own actions, and create the future life they want for themselves by advancing through their own abilities in the here and now.

The concepts of punishing Goddesses and judgmental, jealous Gods; an eternal hell-fire of torment for transgressors against a supreme and dominant male god; and that Spirit ever punishes or restricts were later developments in Egyptian history. Prior to the advent and takeover of the patriarchy, Egypt was a society organised on matriarchal lines.

The roots of Ancient Egyptian spirituality are in

the worship of the Goddess and Her Serpent
