Michelle, I've had some good luck using clay (like sculpty) to make them. I get the shape I want, bake it, then carve the runes once it cools.

I'm thinking about making my own runes using stones from a arts and crafts store. I don't really know the trees well to make my own runes out of wood but these will be better then making them myself.

How do they work (what do they mean) ?

Hello Everyone!  I'm new to Runes and have been trying to learn them.  I am going to be making a set out of flat beach stones, but at the moment I have made a set I made out of a salt dough.  They work for now!  LOL

Hi Leaena ... I have made my own, a set out of bone, and a set out of oak. Your runes are beautiful ... thanks for sharing.

These are my handmade runes. Does anyone make their own?

Hello Maja!!! You live in Gimli? I love going there to visit, its a great spot to hang out when I'm feeling homesick for The Maritimes. :)

Hey Robin, I make mine out of wood. I look specifically for branches that have come down due to storms, but that is just a personal preference. When I have needed them on the spot, I have also made a set of runes from squares cut out of a brown paper lunch bag. A client at the salon knew I did readings and asked if I could do one while she was there. I obliged her with my paper bag runes and the reading was a success :)
