Eric Satie's music probably has more of an emotional/spiritual affect on me than any other music. It is the soundtrack from the secret world of children, tender and ironic at the same time. I'm sure…Continue

From his early experiments (It's gonna rain) thru 18 Musicians and up to Desert Music I was his biggest fan. The later stuff seems really self indulgent to me. I can listen to it, but I don't get the same ecstatic feeling I get from 18 Musicians, which I highly recommend. On Youtube its so chopped up it hard to enjoy, but you'd get an idea from listening to the first part:

I don't always enjoy Steve Reich's music but I alwaYS learn something from it. I have a copy of Six Marimbas around that I should probably give a fresh listen to. Thanks Graig.  marK

Thanks for furthering my musical education ( why I'm here in the first place ) Will definitely be checking out some Badings. Not all electronic stuff is this musical and melodic. "Evolution" was an enjoyable listen all the way around.  marK

The Badings piece is from 1961.

Some of the earliest electronic pieces that I was exposed to that made any sense to me. Henk Bading's "Evolution"

Really GREAT stuff at that. The films that accompany this music are excellent as well. Thanks so much for bringing this.  marK
