we are on a ladder between animal and divine body.

love is a "superpower" god gave us, yet it is a double edge blade,

flame, it can heat you and hurt you.

god is within ourself, he's our guiding compass.

TAO-TE CHING, Section TE, Chapter 53

 

Were I possessed of the least knowledge, I would, when walking on the Great Way (TAO), fear only paths that lead astray.
The great way is easy, yet people prefer by-paths.

The court is corrupt,
The fields are overgrown with weeds,
The granaries are empty;
Yet there are those dressed in fineries,
With swords at their sides,
Filled with food and drink,
And possessed of too much wealth.
This is known as taking the lead in robbery.

Far indeed is this from the Way (TAO).

When the late General of the Left of Kamakura was a youth known as Hyoenosuke, he attended a special banquet one day near the Imperial Palace.  As he took his place near the Chief State Councillor, a guest became disorderly, and the Councillor orderd Yoritomo to arrest the man.  Yoritomo refused: "Give your order to Rokuhara," he said, "He is the general of the Taira family."  The state Councillor said: 'But you are here right now." Yoritomo replied, "I am not quilified to arrest the man."  The words of Yoritomo are admirable, indeed.  It was with this attitude that he latter ruled the country.  Do not rebuke others if you are not in a position to do so.
