So would most people, I suspect.  The droppings are dried, but still there is the gross-out factor to consider.  I suppose in ancient Central Asia that your willingness to handle such things as goat droppings, fresh or dried, was a measure of your dedication.

Tegwedd, wow! I would definitely choose beans over goat droppings. I'm glad they've changed that.

There is a method used in Central Asia of reading goat droppings, but nowadays they just read beans.  It's very complex the way they do it.  I just do it by scrying for any images that come up as you would with tea leaves.

Hi Astral Beard. Did you still have a question about the Pendulum? If so, here's the basics I can give...

Before using the Pendulum, meditate to quiet your mind. I know, basic, right? But it's true. Second, make certain that you "calibrate" your pendulum before asking the questions. Before you start, ask the pendulum to show you it's "yes", "no" and "possibly" responses. Then begin. Only answer the question once. If you start asking the question over and over again, the pendulum will begin to act "wonky".

I remember a time that a friend and I were 'playing' with our pendulums at an all night diner. The waitress thought it was cool and asked us to see if she was pregnant. Both myself, and my friend, received a "yes" answer with our pendulums. Later that week she tested herself and it showed negative. The following week she went to the doctor and found out that she WAS pregnant.

Tegwwedd, I love that. How magnificent. I have never heard of "throwing the beans".

There is probably a divination tool or method for every activity of humankind.  I thought 37 years ago that I had invented a new method of divination. I took the imperfect spotted beans out of a bag of beans when I was making New England baked beans, and used them to perform divination.  Little did I know at the time that I was performing favomancy, divination by throwing the beans, and reading the patterns they formed..

Greetz, Divination: form Latin_divinus: to be inspired or to foresee. attempting to gain insight.( questions or situations.  Can it also be assoicate with dream interpretations?

Dear Nigel Bruce Thomas,

I read your entry on C. G. Jung and commented on one concerning the I-Ching hexagram Nr. 44 ...that's the one with the (supposed) "maiden".

Greetings

Dear  members,

I am new to the group but I contribute I-Ching knowlege, gained as seasoned Sinologist translating, analyzing and interpreting the I-Ching for many years.

Any questions?  Ask me.....
