Climate change is scary. Once we reach the tipping point the slide into extinction will be swift.
Our oceans are in imminent danger due to acidification by CO2 from our atmosphere, and due to Nitrogen runoffs from agriculture.
Coral reefs support 90% of ocean life, but 25% have already been destroyed, according to conservative estimates, while other estimates place the figure closer to 35%.
Marine life helps reduce atmospheric CO2.
When all the reefs have died, the oceans will cease to absorb CO2 from our atmosphere. This means that there will be a dramatic rise in atmospheric CO2, enough to make the atmosphere lethal for anyone who cannot afford adequate, expensive, life-long protection.
A lot of people will die, or we can act now to help reduce the impact of climate change due to CO2 emissions.
