Comment by Posh Paula on April 28, 2013 at 4:19pm Hi Stacey-Marie:
I am a Certified Aromatherapist. Although I am not familiar with the word EMMENAGOGUES, I do have a few suggestions fr you.
Period-Promoting Bath
3 drops clary sage EO, 2 drops basil EO, 2 drops coriander EO, 2 drops Thyme EO.
disperse the oils in a bathtub filled with warm water. Soak in the bath for 20 - 30 minutes.
Flow-Inducing Oil
2 oz carrier oil (probably JoJoba is best), 8 drops clary sage EO, 6 drops Myrrh EO, 4 drops juniper EO, 2 drops coriander EO, 2 drops jasmine absolute or enfleurage.
In a clean container, add the essential oils to the carrier oil and blend. Massage over your abdomen and lower back several times a day.
Cycle-Regulating Oil
2 oz carrier oil, 8 drops chamomile EO, 6 drops clary sage EO, 4 drops geranium EO, 3 drops coriander EO, 2 drops fennel EO, 2 drops jasmine absolute or enfleurage, 2 drops vetiver EO.
Place the carrier oil in a clean container and add the essential oils. Gently turn the container upside down several times or roll between your hands for a few minutes to blend. Massage the oil into your skin daily.
Cycle-Regulating Bath
4 drops clary sage EO, 4 drops geranium EO, 2 drops fennel EO, 2 drops vetiver EO.
Add the essential oils to a bathtub filled with warm water. Soak in the bath for 15 - 20 minutes.
Harmonious Hormone Personal Perfume
1/4 oz JoJoba oil, 4 drops clary sage EO, 3 drops geranium EO, 2 drops jasmine absolute or enfleurage, 2 drops rose EO, 2 drops vetiver EO, 1 drop fennel EO.
In a small bottle, add the essential oils to tje Jojoba oil and blend. Apply the mixture as a fragrance every day.
I sincerely hope that this is helpful! In the meantime here is the Angel Paula to watch over you.http://www.seasidemakeupartists.com
Comment by Stacey-Marie Johnson on April 28, 2013 at 3:07pm hello =) good to be here =) I have a question about EMMENAGOGUES.....
I was wondering if anyone had positive experiences with emmenagogues (herbs to bring on periods/balance hormones)?
By accident I found out about Oregano and funnily enough it worked - had my first period of this year on 5th of April =) (I was diagnosed with PCOS 2 years ago)
It isn't one of the common ones but it is one =)
Would love to hear your experiences =)

Comment by Trail's Rest on February 15, 2013 at 8:27am Mugwort and Wormwood are great purifiers, but I personally prefer Artemisia tridentata to vulgaris and absinthium, but I am a little native-obssessed.
Did you know that there's a native mugwort in your state? If you get to where it's wetter (especially riparian areas, AKA river communities), you may find Artemisia douglasiana. It's labeled as Douglas' Mugwort, but I prefer to call it Western Mugwort. When burned, I find its smoke to be a bit sweeter than vulgaris.
Comment by Firefly on February 14, 2013 at 10:28pm Oh, yeah, I forgot, the mugwort and wormwood are for protection. I should have said that as a matter of course, sorry folks!
Comment by Firefly on February 14, 2013 at 10:26pm I like to burn dried herbs on charcoal rounds. Being a paranoid, lol, most of my incense and aspurging is for cleansing & purification and especially for protection. My favorites are Blue Vervain for cleansing/purifying and mugwort and wormwood. Both are Artemisias, vulgaris and absinthium respectively. I love the Artemisias. Living where I do, Artemisia Tridentata (sagebrush) is about the only botanical I can wildcraft, lol! White Sage does not grow here so I purchase it from a concern in Eugene, OR. They are pretty reliable about quality and every herb is either organically grown or wildcrafted and inspected. They even have a Rabbi come in and supervise just in case Kosher users need herbs for medicinal purposes. It's a very caring concern which has all of it's herbs certified according to "Orgeon Tilth" to insure their purity. I'd name the place but I don't know if that would be considered spamming or not.
