The Goddess Mami Wata and the Tree of Life

In Aethiopia, before the introduction of foreign religions to the continents, people experienced the Serpent as a sacred being of wisdom, immortality, infinity and representing the Earth and the cosmic forces which permeate the living universe. Snakes were considered to be of Spirit, and this is why the word Vodoun means literally, spirit. It is the spirit religion, and is a living and flourishing example of the ancient Goddess religions. The Africa of today was at one time part of the ancient Egyptian cultural nexus, and no-where is this more evident than in the unbelievable synchronicities which are so readily apparent between Vodoun and other Goddess traditions and paths from further in the north.

We all come from the Goddess!!!

Mami Wata is Isis, the Goddess of Ten Thousand Names.

This is an image of Auset in serpent form. Thermouthis is the manifestation of Isis as avenger of fiendish wickedness.

Naturally Isis is the Goddess of the oceans, and so as is the case with many other ancient Goddesses, Mami Wata often appears as a mermaid, half goddess, half fish!

The Spirit religions, or in other terms, Nature-based spirituality is thus very different in many respects to man-made Religions, which are used as tools for control and power and so often just wish to fight and hate each other, though we all come from the same common origins. Spirit religion is about Spirit, and so Vodoun can be considered as the same as real Witchcraft, which deals with the love of Nature and realizes our inner divinity as reflecting the All.

So if you ever come across somebody using 'Voodoo' as a form of black Magick, to make a doll to stick pins in or verbally 'voodoo' someone or something for example just know that all they are doing is not real Vodoun or Witchcraft. It would be totally ineffectual except that whatever is sent out in thought-form on the astral, always returns to sender in triplicate. All spiritual people know that what goes around comes around, and the Law of the Goddess is, Love Unto All Beings. The Goddess and God of Nature do not care about anything superficial, such as skin color or where we live and how much money we have, only what is inside, for as long as that is beautiful, then the outer and inner worlds will become as one.

And that Law - the Law of Love and be free and harm none - has been put into effect by devotees ever since our time began. This is a photograph of the world's first ever Temple. It is in Botswana, Southern Africa and has been dated at approximately 70,000 years, though my personal belief is that the veneration of Serpents as Divine is far older than this date. We are all divine, and we all have the same goddess within.
