I used to live near the place where this was found and the whole area is bog land extending into Co Offaly, Tipperary etc. There have been many artifacts pulled out of these bogs.  When you travel around the country you will see many things relating the the cycles of nature.  As much a Catholicism holds sway here still, its interesting and wonderful to note that there are many sacred pagan sites preserved here still and you still see fairy forts all over the place.  To this day people will not enter them or cut any wood in them.

Sorry I am not a druid and yet as a pagan and follower of the cycles of nature, have much love for this land we exist on and the sites set up around the world to celebrate and honour this.

I also as a Londoner (now living in Ireland) got to see many of the sites in the UK too...Stonehenge, Avebury, Glastonbury Tor etc.

Thank you Karen, it did. Looks like things are still in the preliminary stages of discovery. That area has a known history of body deposition dating back a couple thousand years. It will be interesting to hear what they find out.

This is amazing! my dad is from county Laois and lives in the countryside on a farm so there is a possibility that he could live near it :)
