Temple Illuminatus

I was actually going to write this as one of my blogs on From the Outer, but I decided this would make a great discussion.

The question is; how powerful is attention on the world around you?

Let me explain with a few examples.  Let's make them all concerning a natural disaster.

First, there is prayer.  I want to put the religious aspect to the side.  When you pray, you hopefully truly desire to help those you are praying for.  This unleashes energy directed to those in question.

Next, is meditation.  Just like prayer, meditation used as a tool to send energies to those in need is done all the time.

According to one path of beliefs; real magic is all about attention and in addition it has been theorized that symbols and rituals only serve to increase and focus attention on the task at hand.

Finally, there is simply the desire for things to get better.  This can also include wanting to help, wanting others to help, or wanting a miracle.

So, let's take the recent Japan disaster.  How much do you think projected energies spawned by the onlooking world had on the aftermath.

There are plenty of examples showing how both positive and negative thoughts affect both those around you and the environment as well.  In truth, only apathy is truly powerless in this respect.  Here is a good example of how individual empathy can pick up these thoughts:

You go to work.  Simple enough right?  Well, you enter your workplace with a smile on your face ready to get through the day.  Yet, there is a coworker or boss who is in an extremely foul mood.  How many times has this happened to you?  You should remember that not only the atmosphere had everyone quiet or arguing, but you yourself seemed to soak up that emotion.  The only difference is, you apply that emotion to something that is relevant to you.  After fuming for an entire day on the subject you accidentally go off on your significant other upon returning home concerning a problem you perceive in the relationship.

I am extremely empathic so I have to fight these forces whenever they appear or my depression and anxiety multiply tenfold.

Do you think a cancer doctor that truly cares and feels sorrow for his patients stands a better chance at curing someone than another doctor of the same skill and talent that only sees you as another paying statistic passing through their doors?  Do you believe John Keel's theory of beings that project things we consider paranormal so that it can feed off of your attention?  Do you think prayers and meditations can change a reality that is already in motion?

Wow, thank you.  It is really nice to have viewpoints from the other side of my views.  This is why I ask questions.  I always found the best way to answer a riddle is to ask enough questions for the riddler to give you the answer.  The natural disaster thing I admit I didn't give any detail on and it did confuse me when I reread it.

I was trying to give an example of something along the lines of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.  It wasn't a question of can we cause them.  It was a question of how much influence the world's thoughts had on the aftermath.

So sorry for the confusion and thank you for your detailed answers.  I went back and tried to clear up those points.  Thank you again.

I also wanted to say that I like your down to earth logical approach.

Ohhh we are gonna die...we are gonna die..!!! Run ...run!!! but where????...I just don't know...just run!! But where??? Leave me alone!! I feel FEAR...and maybe ignorance!! just ruuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn to the end of the World.... hahahahhahha

I just can't stop joking, sorry about that....

All is about our minds and feelings dominating the wolrd...Fear dominates some people minds...yeaaaaaaaaa I love fear...but for you, not for me please...it doesn't let me think clearly and by the way...I don't fear dead....I belive in GOD.

Martouk,

In humility, I agree with this point,  I would like to add that if we feel something bad is going to happen, we seem to manifest the same thing as we focus on

Love and Light

Yea, thats one interesting point..the fear makes the Devil...the Devil does not exists but maybe it was the cause of my disasters...it's a matter of: this is not my fault, it's yours...

Well seriously...I think we must not focus our attention to something particular because we lost the global vision of things...just make our 'eyes' open to everything to connect ideas of different kinds and connect causes and effects.

Martouk,

I agree with this to a certain point.  I myself may think that airing these events makes the world want to help the survivors and that is a good thing because I believe the energies from our attention help that cause, but I see your point.  Instead of getting trapped in the part of the tragedy you cannot change, you could use that focus to help ease the destruction of future disasters.  Like you said, "It is a lock down for the mind."  And, I also agree with the advancement of the spirit issue.  As a person suffering from things I can't even remember, I can vouch for the unchangeable past holding your spirit back.  Without that constant influence I would have kept my promise to the spirits and became a shaman by now.

Yea.

The changes to come are good...I don't know why some people keep going their minds about tragedies. We will reach a point where we will need to change, so we change or die...so we change...this are cyles...remember russian revolution, or french history...well Christians in an aberrated Roma...

The time will come and the changes will we for our own survival...we will reach the point and we are already on it...but I don't think forces of own destruction are stronger than forces of self survival, or at least they never were....

At least nueclear war has never happened and germany is still paying to the Jews of the WWII.

I don't whant to offend please, only telling reality....

Attention is deffinately a powerful force, but not ultimate. To focus on something is basically concentrating your energies on something, without attention or focus we could not learn. Prayer and meditation work in mysterious ways, I don't really think that the power that you send out from prayer can travel far enough to save someone or help someone, but it could contribute if a lot of people all pray at the same time. A better bet would be to start a fund raiser and get all your friends to help and donate that money to the effort of helping those people. Alone you only have yourself and your energy, but with a group all focusing on a common goal, focusing your energies into a physical manifest, you can actually make a physical difference. On the idea of the workplace, in that position, it's sometimes better to leave that person alone, but more often than most, it's a good idea to go out of your way to help that person. If you spend all day being nice to that grumpy person and helping them get over that problem, all those other people in the office are looking at you because you made their lives easier in the chain of positivity. All of that returns to you at some point in time, I don't think kharma is that abstract or magical, although it does work in mysterious ways. You must remember that kharma has no physical body so it needs things to direct it. Whether it be a tree, an animal, a person, the weather, ect. and we can influence this through our free will.

Gravity is the ultimate force, for it works the cosmos. Without gravity we would cease to exist.

Who are we, and what are we doing in this world?, why are you here?...are you gonna die for ever when your biological corpse stops living? you think there's something else? you FEEL there's something else? you feel others energy and feelings clearly? can you feel your husband, momy or dad or sister when the are far away from you? you can feel more the things you love more I think...

We must pay attention to this world to begin feeling next life...we must belive there's something else away from our body to beging feeling it...if not...we are just negating it.

No one can give you a truely true about this, only ourselves...can we belive in something we negate?

Cosmos is formed by matter and energy...energy penetrates matter and matter absorbs energy, matter irradiates energy slowly, fast in case of radioactive materials...

The wolrd was plane not so long away and the people who said that it was round were called "mads".

Look to everything we have discover about matter, look what we little know about energies...

Look about how time is recorder in the universe, like quantum physics tell us...

Look how reducing matter to the smallest become music, like quantum physics tell us....

Look how many questions we ask to ourselves...look to Verne, look to Einstien and how all things writed in a paper are still giving to talk and discover...

Don't say this is not or this doesn't exists like science does...just say it maybe it could be...exist...because science is always correcting itself.

We must belive something may exists  to begin paying attention to this things... and may be begin to discover new things...

I never said anything did or didn't exist, in the grand scheme of things we are all ignorant. What I meant by "gravity works the cosmos" is that it holds planets together. There isn't really scientific proof of gravity because we can't touch or see it, but we can feel it. Without gravity we would have no physical body, and no query to the WHY questions, no journey to take, nothing left to learn. Sounds boring to me.

Hi Richard - The teacher/mathematician Dewy Larson gave a very nice and easy to comprehend definition/explanation of gravity in his Reciprocal Space-Time theory.  He defined the basic structure of the universe entirely in terms of 'units of motion' -  little bits of dimensionless units of space-time - pure motion.  To simplify - these tiny units of motion (0.5 x 10[-6] cm.] have two fundamental scalar directions: 1) all the units that move inwards toward all other units; or, 2) all the units that move outwards, away from all other units. Gravity then is defined not as a "force" but as a direction - those units moving outwards seem to "repel" each other - this is the general motion of time-space (the thing we refer to as the 'outward progression of space'.)  All units moving in the opposite direction, in towards all other units, are what we refer to as the "material" universe.  This is entirely consistent with relativity and, as you can see, explains what we observe without a lot of intervening mystification.  The unit velocity of these 'motion bits' is C. If they move outward, we don't see them or perceive anything about them - they are, in fact, like space, because every one of them moves away from every other one of them.  Even light shares that motion and cannot be "seen" (can never reach another unit).  If, however, they move inward, they are perceived because they, and everything about them is moving towards all other similar units, which nicely defines why the material universe appears to be "material".  Light, too,  reaches us, relative to our sharing this common motion. Outward moving units have no "light" because it moves away from all other units.  Non-existence comes directly from the definition and is the state when the motion of a unit directly reverses itself, thus canceling its universal motion - units which do this continuously simply don't exist (i.e. have no motion).  Reciprocal s-t also permits units to transverse their own general motion (i.e. cross back and forth, "sidewise") from which a whole lot of surprises, like the periodic table, mathematically (rather than magically) pop out. Anyway, it's an interesting idea and does away with a whole lot of whooey about gravity being some kind of "force" or "action at a distance" or "field deformation characteristic which quantum theory has been enamored with for so long (and probably why his work has yet to get a fair review).
