Permalink Reply by Bruce Maughs on February 9, 2012 at 4:17am I agree with compassion being the key
But could we ever truly know compassion, if we never felt anger or hate.
Or could someone just tell us about anger and hate and then we could feel we don't want to ever be like that and then hold the key's to compassion close in our grip or in our soul seat
Permalink Reply by SAM on February 9, 2012 at 5:01am For me... I did/do have anger within me...when I was younger it was hidden... I was a "nice" person and still that underlying energy of anger and it has been felt by ppl...then I learned to express... to let it out... I became aware that when that energy came up... it did resonate with that kind of "same" energy within others...so our energies did meet - that was scary at times...
For me compassion... does mean... to see beyond the veil at times.... to see beyond the illusion... to accept ourselves with all we are and that we are here to learn for... as well as accepting others..by accepting there is a love is arising within...a love for beings... for the lessons we created to learn...that is for me when compassion comes in....helping ourselves while helping others...for me help does not mean not to say anything anymore... I do have rules I follow...in my case the rules of tibetian buddhism...
Permalink Reply by Bruce Maughs on February 9, 2012 at 6:23am I have came to the conclusion that we all live a life and make the best decision we possibly can at any given time.
As everything we do and the emotions we carry are future possibles, but to be in balance we need to know what it is like to misuse power, or cause ourself / someone else greif... Being told a fact about pain is nothing like feeling pain, so a person who does not feel enough pain might need to continue causing pain until they feel it from within
Most humans do not seem to conquer too many things / emotions in a single life time, from a historical standpoint, the ones who DO seem to do this are the ones that we later write about as spiritual leaders and teachers
Permalink Reply by SAM on February 9, 2012 at 9:33am so true... we all do the best we can do at any time... as they did in the past...
understanding that truth helped me a lot to understand and to forgive...
compassion cannot be understood by the head... it has to be felt in our hearts... as all emotions... that we understand that they are not permanent... that we understand and have felt the suffering in our own being..out of knowing how it feels like - compassion can arise... and that we have a choice any moment....
